Representing talent while producing design, advertising and all else in-between. Case studies can be viewed here.

YCN partnered with University of the Arts London to create a visual identity for their new Futurising festival. Having created the identity we designed and built a website to enable editorial support, registrations and ticket sales in the run up to event.

Futurising is "the UK's very first creative graduates festival promising a one-stop-shop of opportunities and information"

The event sets out to bring together creative graduates with figures from across various industries and sectors; in a way that opens each parties eyes to the hidden benefits of working with one another. Unlike similar events and ventures; Futurising dwells on the transferable skills inherent within students of creative subjects, and seeks to communicate this to both groups of potential attendees.

In approaching the design of the festival identities we sought to both engage with creative graduates, and visually reference how two audiences would be connected with one another in different ways.

Hearing it from the horse's mouth

To kick off our research and creative development we held some sessions with recent creative graduates. We sort their views on what they'd expect at such an event, and the aesthetic they'd expect in it's communication (and online promotion).

A series of fruitful discussions and workshops were held in our studios at 72 Rivington Street.

Everyone's different

Initial group development, and client feedback, showed that there was an opportunity with the logotype to reference the fact that everyone's experience of the festival would be different, and all those that attended would make different professional connections. A modular approach was adopted.

Update: The images above show the application of our identity to signage elements at the event itself, as designed by Spin.

A central website for editorial, ticketing and registrations

YCN's Technical Director, and kulör founder, Daniel Howells led the development of the supporting Futurising website; powered by a content management system designed to allow easy updating by the many members of the festival team.
