Ciara Phelan was commissioned through YCN by Sunday Publishing to create several illustrations for Toyota's latest promotional booklet "discover driving pleasure", a publication dedicated to celebrating the joy of driving.

Postcard illustrations

Twelve illustrators from our roster were commissioned through YCN by Wire Design for Ingeus, one of the UK’s leading welfare-to-work providers.

Having recently become the biggest provider of the government's Work Programme, and are continuing to grow and expand internationally, Wire were asked by Ingeus to visually capture end express their values and approach. Their solution was to create a postcard pack featuring a dozen illustrated postcards from YCN talents including Anna Garforth, Åh, Borja Bonaque, Charlotte Trounce, Dale Edwin Murray, David Sparshott, Jean Jullien, Liz Kay, Maggie Li, Nick Chaffe and Oli Frape.

Brochure Illustrations

Fernando Volken Togni was commissioned through YCN by CIPFA to create a mural illustration to be used on the cover of two brochures. The images were also used throughout the brochures, highlighting key areas.

Festive Campaign

We produced a festive campaign to boost visitor numbers to core Royal Horticultural Society gardens nationally and communicate the richness of their garden shops. Leading with the line "Gifts Galore and Wonders to Explore" the campaign comprised press and outdoor, direct response emails and point of sale materials across the RHS's various gardens.

We were lucky to collaborate with photographer Kate Peters as part of proceedings. We are in the middle of a number of new RHS projects for 2012, visuals of which will be added to the site shortly.

YCN illustrator Jamie Portch continues his collaboration with DHM London, producing 2 fresh illustrations for the Google 6x booklet. The illustrations enliven the fact that the Google display network offers advertisers six times the click-through rate compared to the industry standard.

Ciara Phelan, George Myers, Clare Owen and Maggie Li were all commissioned through YCN by Redactive to produce illustrations for the December issue of Bulletin magazine (The official magazine of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists). Their illustrations can be viewed in corresponding order below.

Words can hurt animation

YCN was commissioned by the NSPCC to write, direct and produce an animation pertinent to the theme of Verbal Bullying, to be shown within the ChildLine website in Anti Bullying Week 2011. The final piece, Words Can Hurt, can be viewed above.

We were lucky to collaborate once again with animation maestros Plastic Horse, camera-man Geoffrey Taylor and sound designers Box of Toys.

YCN illustrator Jack Hughes recently completed a number of illustrations for Time Out magazine. The illustrations accompanied a feature on 'How to recession proof your life' - hints & tips on how to survive.

Animation

Owen Gildersleeve was commissioned through YCN by The Guardian to create a 2 minute stop-frame animation with animator Lee Gould, and photographer Ryan Hopkinson. Owen was given the opening lines of six famous novels and asked to integrate them into his imagery. The animation was then used as part of a competition for the paper's Book Season.
